REMINDER: The creative review assignment is due on the 25th.... at least a rough draft.

Creative Project for AP Psych Review     Project due April 25^th – 

You may work alone or with up to a total of 3 people.

• Pick any content from any chapter and make a video that will help your fellow students understand and remember the psych knowledge.
• The psych knowledge in the song should be accurate, but you may get creative and have fun with it.

1. Write a Psych Song;

• Pick a song that most students will recognize or write your own song. It can be a nursery rhyme or any genre of music. (It must be at least a chorus and 3 verses)
• Write new lyrics that relate to psych in the song. You can use any topics in psych from any chapter. The song must have AT LEAST 5 psychological terms used correctly.
• You must e-mail and turn in a hard copy of the song with the name of the original song and artist on the top of the paper, your new lyrics and the names of all group members.
• If I can find a karaoke version of the song I will buy it and you can perform the song for the class. – If you are writing an original song you can send me a track or bring your instrument.

2. Make a Psych Video

• The video must be between 2 and 4 minutes (not including credits) and contain AT LEAST 5 psychological terms used correctly.

• You should e-mail me the video and/or post it on YouTube so I can show it in class and link to it from our blog.
• Credits should include the names of all participants and a list of all sources used.

3. Do some Other Creative Project

• You can use performance, stand-up comedy, painting, comics, sculpture, poetry, blog, animation, dance, spoken word, mime… to show what you know and teach it to us
• The piece of art must include AT LEAST 5 psychological terms used correctly
• Check in with me for approval of your idea by April 11^th.

PsykTrek CD-ROM Review Project

The PsykTrek CD-ROM is an interactive course in psychology. It is like a textbook with audio, video and animation. You can use it to review units we’ve already covered, approach our current units in a new way and preview units we haven’t hit yet.

The AP EXAM is on Monday May 5^th  You must have this assignment done by Friday April 4^th. Out of the 56 mini quizzes on the CD you need to do at least 30 during that time. You get to pick which units you want to do and which parts of each unit you want to quiz yourself on. – I suggest using it to review before our Jan 22 Final Exam and then throughout the year.

When you use the CD you will register your name and e-mail address. You will also put in my name as Mr. Cantor and my e-mail address as ptdworkin-cantor@cps.edu. When you take the quizzes the results will be e-mailed to me. Please also record each quiz in the chart below. You must retake a quiz until you have at least 90% in order for it to count. This is an “all or nothing” assignment. If you do at least 30 successful quizzes this will count as a perfect score on an exam worth 50 points. If you do fewer than 30 successful quizzes it will count as a zero.

If you don’t have internet or a CD drive at home you can use the library or a friends house, but you are responsible to do this work outside of class. If you have a computer, but no internet access, you must record evidence of completing each quiz. You can take a screen shot of your results, or print the results page if you have a printer – you can then bring in a USB drive with the screenshots or turn in the print-outs.

Search for the #appsychreview hashtag to see what sorts of questions other students are asking... and see answers from real AP Psych teachers from around the nation. You can also post your own questions to twitter and get answers. Please don't post questions that you should just look up in your book or on Wikipedia... don't ask "who is Piaget?" but do ask "how do I remember Piaget's stages of cognitive development?"

Remember, the best way to study is to actually quiz yourself (or have someone quiz you) to see what you remember... then try to re-learn what you didn't remember. Use mnemonic devices... create meaning - SEMANTIC CONNECTIONS!... draw pictures, come up with examples! Just reading over your stuff, or just watching a video isn't enough.
